Party Idea: Corny Shrimps in papad cone


Udid papad (papadams) = 4 nos
Small shrimps – ½  cup
Sweet corn  - ½ cup
Onion – ½
Garlic – 1 clove finely chopped
Ginger – 1 tsp finely chopped
Soya sauce – 1 tsp
Vinegar – 1 tsp
Chilly sauce – 1 tsp
Black pepper powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1 tsp
Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
Chat masala – 1 tsp
Oil – 2 tsp
Salt as per taste


1.       Cut each papad in half.
2.       Heat a pan and roast the ½ cut papad, one at a time.

3.       Once roasted, remove it from pan and quickly roll it into a cone. Keep them aside.

4.       Heat some oil in a pan. Add finely chopped ginger, garlic and onion in it. Sauté it for a minute.
5.       Add shrimps to it along with soya sauce, vinegar, red chili sauce, black pepper powder  and salt as per taste in it.
6.       Sauté it for a minute or till the shrimps  are completely cooked. Remove it in a bowl.
7.       Add some oil in another pan. Add sweet corn to it and sauté it for minute.

8.       Add turmeric, red chili powder, chat masala and salt as per taste. Mix well. Remove it in another bowl.
9.       Now, take each papad roll in a hand. Add 1 spoon of shrimps mixture in it along with another spoonfull of sweet corn on top of it.

10.   Granish  with coriander and serve hot.

Makhane ki kheer


Makhane (Fox nut) - 1 cup
Milk - 1 ltr
Sugar - 1/4 cup (You can adjust as per your taste)
Ghee - 2 tsp
Mixed dry fruits - 2 tblsps
Saffron - 1 pinch
Cardamon powder - 1 tsp


1. Boil and reduce the milk, till it becomes 1/2of its original quantity.
2. Heat some ghee in a pan. Roast makhanas in it for 4-5 min. Switch off the gas.
3. Once makhanas get cooled down, spin it once or twice in a mixer.
4. Add these coarse makhanas, sugar, saffron and cardamon powder to the milk.
5. Let it boil for 5 minutes. Switch off the gas.
6. Garnish it with mixed dry fruits.
7. This kheer is mostly served chilled. But if you like, you can serve it hot too.

Garlic soup in bread bowl


Round bread – 1 no
Garlic cloves – 10-12 nos
Potato - 1 no
Chicken stock - 3 cups
Bread slice - 2 nos
Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
Basil - 1/2 tsp
Oregano - 1/2 tsp
Cheese - 2 tblsps
Butter - 2 tblsp
Salt as per taste.


1. Finely chop the garlic cloves and slice a potato.
2. Heat some butter in a pan. Add chopped garlic and potato to it.
3. After 1 min pour chicken stock in it.
4. Add black pepper powder, basil, oregano and salt as per taste.
6. Add pieces of bread slices in it.
7. Cover the soup and let it boil for 10-12 minutes or till the potato cooks.
8. Once the potatoes are cooked make a fine puree of soup in a mixer.
9. Take a bread bowl, slice the top part of it. Remove all the bread from inside.

10. Appply some butter to the bread bowl from inside as well as outside. Roast it in the oven on 240 degree celcius for 7-8 minutes. This will make the bread crispy.
11. Once the bread bowl is ready and crispy, pour some soup in it.
12. Sprinkle some cheese on top of it and server hot.
