Maharashtrian style chicken curry

Ingredients:

Chicken - 1/2 kg
Onion - 1 medium size
Tomato - 2 nos
Dry coconut - 1/2 cup grated
Garlic - 3-4 cloves
Ginger - 1 inch
Cinemon - 1 inch piece
Cloves - 2-3 nos
Black peper - 3-4 nos
Green cardamom - 2 nos
Coriander seeds - 1 spoon
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Red chilly powder - 2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Chicken masala - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 3-4 tblsps
Salt as per taste
Corinder for garnish

Recipe:

1. Wash chicken thorughky and cut it into medium size pieces.
2. Grind all below ingredients (as shown in picture) in a smooth paste. 




3. Heat a pan. Add 3-4 tblsps of oil. Once the oil is hot add the grounded masala in it.
4. Saute this masala till it starts to ooze out some oil.
5. Add turmeric, red chilly powder, chicken masala, garam masala, coriander powder in it and mix well.
6. Add cut chicken pieces and salt as per taste.
7. Cover the pan with flat plate and pour some water on that plate.
8. After 5 minutes, remove the cover. By this time chicken would have oozeed out some oil.
9. Add another 1-2 cup of water as per your need. Cover it and let it cook for 10 minutes.
10. After 10 minutes, chicken will get cooked. Garnish it with coriander.
11. Serve hot chicken masala with jeera rice, plain basmati rice and bhakari.
